Predator control for Arthur’s Pass National Park and Lake Sumner Forest Park

We plan to aerially apply non-toxic prefeed on a day between 20 January and 4 February – depending on the weather. Tracks in the eastern side of Arthur’s Pass National Park and in the South Branch of the Hurunui in Lake Sumner Forest Park are still open except for the day that we aerially apply the non-toxic pre-feed – sandy coloured pellets.

After the pre-feed and when the weather is good, the next step is to apply biodegradable aerial 1080 – green coloured pellets.

We aim to remove bait from tracks on the day of application so that areas are open again as soon as possible.

How to keep dogs, other pets and livestock safe around 1080.
