Sun: drive (1 hr, 80 km) to the Mowraki River at the northern end of the Haast Paringa Cattle Track tramp up the Moeraki Valley to Horseshoe Flat Hut (6 bunks, 4.5 hours) and on to Middle Head Hut (6 bunks, 1.5 hours) Mon: visit rock biv, return from Middle Head Hut to Blue River Hut (8 bunks)
Tue: to Māori Saddle Hut (10 bunks, 4.5 hours)
Wed: to Mataketake Hut (8 bunks)
Thu: to Blue River Hut via tops – 5 to 6 hours to car, drive (30 min, 30 km) to Waita River at the south end of the Haast-Paringa Cattle Track, tramp 2 hr to Coppermine Creek Hut 8 bunks Fri: visit Joe's Hut, to car (1.5 hours), drive to Fox (2 hr 130 km) for the night, motel
Sat: drive from Franz (5.5 hr 400 km) back to Christchurch, fly to Wellington
