Sultana Cake

Sultana Cake

500g sultanas 250 g butter 3 eggs 3 tsp baking powder ½ cup milk cold water 250g sugar 500g flour ½ tsp salt

  • just cover sultanas with cold water and bring to boil
  • boil for 10 minutes, then drain and cool
  • cream butter and sugar
  • add eggs
  • then sifted dry ingredients
  • with ½ cup of milk
  • and cooked sultanas
  • turn in mixture
  • place in the oven at 160°
  • bake for 1½ hours

Serves 8
