Mulled Feijoas
8 medium feijoas, peeled, halved lengthwise
1 cup fruity red wine (merlot or shiraz)
½ cup squeezed orange juice (1 orange)
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon
- place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer
- cover and simmer very gently for 20 minutes, or feijoas are soft but not collapsing
- server warm, or cooled with icecream or cream
Serves 4; preparation 10 minutes; cooking 20 minutes
